LAUDATO SI WEEK CELEBRATION 2024
AT THE CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF EASTERN AFRICA
This month, we celebrated Laudato Si week and Pentecost , gathering as a community to nurture seeds of hope for our ailing planet .Under the theme for 2024 (Seeds of Hope) which was intended to inspire new habits and strengthen people’s connection with the environment and urged all in the entire week to reflect on the message on care for our common home and also on the call to encourage a global dialogue about how people’s daily actions and decisions shape the future of the planet and people.
The Laudato si movement global gave the topics to reflect and guide all in this year’s laudato week for the entire week starting from pentecost sunday (19th to 26th May)
- Sunday , Ecological Conversion
- Monday, Sustainable transportation
- Tuesday, Sustainable food
- Wednesday, Renewable energy
- Thursday, Waste reduction
- Friday ,Water conservation
- Saturday, Catechesis and integral ecology


As a way of celebrating the laudato si week 2024 which started on May 19th to 26th. The office of Justice peace and integrity of creation franciscans africa (JPIC-FA), Laudato Si movement, Mother earth network, Harmony institute , Centre for social justice and ethics -Catholic university of eastern africa and LSAs organized a laudato si mass to celebrate the 9th anniversary of the pope francis encyclical Laudato si (Praise be to you) at the CUEA holy trinity chapel.
The mass celebration was celebrated by Fr. Peter Mbaro , Fr. Hermann Borg and Fr.Micheal Agliardo , The teachings of mass reflected upon this year Laudato Si week theme seeds of hope where we are being called upon to be those seeds of hope in our lives and the world rooted in faith and love .The theme is inspired by the season of creation 2024 symbol first fruits .
