As a way to express gratitude and affection towards mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers and all the maternal figures who have played a pivotal role in nurturing , guiding and supporting us. The office of justice, peace and integrity of creation franciscans Africa (JPIC-FA ) in its mission of helping communities especially the needy through empowerment and advocacy on 12th May 2024 organized a mother’s day celebration with mothers from the communities in Isinya -Kajiado county at their JPIC-FA Laudato Si community center.
This celebration, which was organized by the office and the local community, attracted about 40 women from the three villages of Reto, Olepolos and Olomunyak, also few men joined to celebrate the good work the mothers have been doing, this celebration provided an opportunity to appreciate all the mother’s for the great work they have been doing in the community, show love for the sacrifice they make to take care of their family and appreciate the gift of motherhood that make them care givers, family providers through their efforts in businesses, farming.
On this day 10 sewing/ tailoring machines were donated to the center for community by Omeriye foundation through partnership with Harmony Institute to help in training especially for women and girls interested in tailoring works and designs to create employment.
The community elders and the women leadership through their chairperson appreciated the good work the office of JPIC-FA has been doing to the community through its continued support and empowerment projects. that the office of JPIC-FA through its director appreciated the good partnership and support the harmony institute has been offering to them with the help of its director Mr. Mustafa Genc who has been in the forefront in supporting the JPIC-FA programs and activities.
