Advocacy for Justice & Human Dignity
Speaking truth to power, amplifying marginalized voices, and working for systemic change across Africa
Our Advocacy Mission
JPIC-FA stands as a voice for the voiceless, working tirelessly to protect human rights, promote social justice, and advocate for policies that uphold the dignity of every person. Rooted in Franciscan values, we believe that true peace can only be achieved through justice, and we are committed to creating lasting change in communities across Africa.
Why We Advocate
Following the example of St. Francis of Assisi, we recognize that we can no longer remain inactive when human and political rights are violated. As Franciscans, we are called to be peacemakers in a world marked by injustice, inequality, and exploitation. Our advocacy work responds to the urgent social and economic challenges facing African communities, particularly those who are most vulnerable and marginalized.
Justice & Equality
We advocate for fair treatment under the law, equal access to opportunities, and the protection of fundamental human rights for all people, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Peace & Reconciliation
We promote dialogue, healing, and reconciliation in communities affected by conflict, working to build bridges and foster understanding across divides.
Integrity of Creation
We defend environmental rights and advocate for sustainable practices that protect our common home and ensure a livable planet for future generations.
Empowerment & Dignity
We work to ensure that marginalized communities have the tools, resources, and voice to advocate for themselves and claim their rightful place in society.
Our Advocacy Focus Areas
Vulnerable Populations
Advocating for the rights of children, women, prisoners, persons with disabilities, and the elderly. We work to ensure these groups have access to protection, services, and opportunities for dignified living.
Economic Rights & Poverty

Accountability & Transparency
Promoting democratic governance, fighting corruption, and holding leaders accountable to their commitments and responsibilities to the people they serve.
Women’s Rights
Advocating against gender-based violence, promoting women’s economic empowerment, and ensuring equal access to education, healthcare, and decision-making positions.
Refugee & Migrant Rights
Standing with refugees, internally displaced persons, and migrants to ensure their protection, access to asylum, and humane treatment in accordance with international law.
Justice for All
Ensuring that marginalized communities have access to legal support, fair trials, and protection from arbitrary detention or discrimination in the justice system.

Raising awareness, supporting survivors, and advocating for stronger laws and enforcement to combat human trafficking and modern slavery in all its forms.
