On Saturday, we convened the JPIC FA Laudato Si’ Community Centre leaders’ meeting to reflect on three years of journey, growth, and impact. What began as a charity response to drought and famine caused by climate change in Isinya, Kajiado County, has grown into a powerful story of resilience and community transformation.
The meeting provided an opportunity to celebrate achievements, reflect on challenges encountered along the way, and highlight impactful programs spearheaded by JPIC Franciscans Africa, including agroecology training, tailoring skills development, and youth empowerment initiatives that continue to transform lives and strengthen livelihoods.
During the meeting, we also nominated a new leadership team to spearhead the project forward, strengthening governance, enhancing community ownership, and ensuring the sustainability of the initiative.
We further visited the centre to assess daily operations and witness firsthand the life-changing work happening on the ground. We remain deeply grateful for the commitment of community leaders and partners walking this journey with us as we continue to care for people and our common home.
